- PRCP & WACP Joint Congress 2025 Tokyo Held in the Hamamatsucho, Takeshiba, and Shibaura Areas

The “Pacific Rim College of Psychiatrists (21st General Meeting) / World Association of Cultural Psychiatry (7th General Meeting) Joint Congress” was held in this area. DMO SHIBA, Tokyo Bay collaborated with various stakeholders to support this international academic congress.

1. Venue
Proposals Hamamatsucho Convention Hall & Hybrid Studio (Congress Venue)
InterContinental Tokyo Bay (Gala Dinner)
We introduced the Hamamatsucho Convention Hall & Hybrid Studio, a large convention hall located in Hamamatsucho, one of Tokyo’s leading transportation hubs offering exceptional convenience for both domestic and international visitors, as the venue for the academic congress. This venue, equipped with two halls, an exhibition space, and 8 meeting rooms of varying sizes, greatly contributed to the success of the congress.
On the second day of the congress, Friday, September 26, the InterContinental Tokyo Bay was introduced as the venue for the gala dinner.

2. Support for the Heartful Art Festival
We supported grant applications and coordinated with relevant parties to exhibit artwork such as paintings submitted by individuals who had received or were receiving mental health treatment, as well as those involved in psychiatric care. These artworks were displayed on the pedestrian deck. Hosting the art exhibition in a publicly accessible area not only allowed many people to enjoy the art but also contributed to fostering local understanding of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) events.

3. Providing OCHA Experiences
OCHA Breaks
With the cooperation of a Unique Local Person, Mr. Kakuno, opportunities to experience Japanese tea culture were provided. OCHA Breaks were offered at the Hamamatsucho Convention Hall & Hybrid Studio, the international academic congress venue, while OCHA Experiences were held at the City Plaza in Tokyo PortCity Takeshiba. Participants enjoyed moments of calm while experiencing authentic Japanese tea culture and touching tatami mats adorned with the PRCP & WACP logo.

4. Introduction of Student Volunteers
We recruited volunteer staff from among the students of Toita Women’s College, members of our organization. A total of 44 students supported the operation of the international academic congress.

5. Provision of MICE MAP
We provided digital maps highlighting recommended restaurants, photo spots, and running routes in the area, allowing participants to fully experience the charm of the local community.

6. Provision of Digital Signage
During the congress period, we provided opportunities to promote the international academic congress through digital signage within the area.
